This is your typical shoujo manga with all of your usual clichés, but a lot of spice! I don’t mind the misunderstandings and angst because I know they’re going to be resolved by the end. I’m just here for the smvt! Even for a partially censored story, the smvt is hard-core!

Dude tries to kill her and then thinks an apology can make up for it. I don’t like how she forgives him either. Wether fantasy, or reality, I’m not into forgiving the unforgivable. Especially not when it’s later dressed up as “love”. I guess if he had never fallen in love with her, he would not have felt guilty about trying to kill her. And in all her past lives the way in which he treated her abusively is disgusting. Eight lives. This is not a cute story. This is a story about forgiving and tolerating past abuse, and accepting love as an excuse for it.

If you’re looking for a story that’s cute and simple with low stakes drama, this is a good read. A few things to notes: there’s a bit of a rough start between the two because of his own preconceived notions and misconceptions but he does redeem himself. He’s a bit pushy and there’s some dub-con in his behavior but nothing over the top. There’s a lot of fluff and women supporting women.

The FL was warned MULTIPLE times and just couldn’t take a hint because she’s just oh so “sweet, innocent, and naive”. Like I’m sorry, but she’s just plain stupid. Like unforgivably stupid. There’s a limit to how much common sense one can lack, and she hit that limit and kept running past it. She’s powerless, a pushover, a doormat, codependent, and dumb. Her sense of self-worth and critical thinking skills honestly do not get any better 40 chapters in. It’s quite annoying. I can’t recommend this story in good conscience.

I admit, I was only partially interested in the story when I saw an ad for it on Insta. So I was only going to read the first book. I ended up purchasing all the ones currently available. This story has me hooked! Both the ML & FL are bad*sses in their own right. Took me by surprise. And once all misunderstandings were cleared, which didn’t take too long thankfully, they’re deeply devoted to one another. Can’t get enough of this story!
